Paradise

A somber clarity exists
In the crackle of sun ripened leaves
That chequer mossy ground,
A natural mosaic
Of fiery hues,

A subtle vibrancy
Ushering temporal change,
Never sudden ending.
For flora must surrender to desolate slumber,
A guaranteed submission

To forces beyond imagination,
Where contrary actions hold no power
In preserved areas
Where scenic supplication

Calms the human condition
Beyond labyrinths of constructed glory,
All a replication of unrefined majesty
Where soaring dandelions act as guardians
Of prolific reach perpetual,

Like tempestuous weeds
Resolved to conquer.
For nature persists
Despite perverse demands
And restrictive hands;

An audacious betrayal
Ensuring only the virtuous
May inherit earthly paradise.
