A Prayer to the Deity of the Lost Â
I keep on losing things likeÂ
my sign pen,
my scissors,Â
my phone.Â
So I intertwine my hands and call uponÂ
her name,
Anagolay*,
…please?
Bring back the things I need
and things I thought would always be here—
my heart,
some memories,
You.Â
And if things don’t work that way; to stay
is not in Tadhana’s** bound— then,Â
may the gods allow me to forget
the things that will never be found.
*A/N: Anagolay is the Goddess of Lost Things based on Philippine Mythology.
**Tadhana means Destiny or Fate.
