The Fish in My Heart
My heart, it is a fishbowl
And inside there is a fish
Swimming round in circles
In a constant motion
And some days I feel it’s fins
Brush against the glass
And some days I feel nothing
Just a bowl of emptiness
But a voice inside me whispers
The fish hasn’t gone belly up
It’s still swimming round in circles
And maybe that’s enough
Cause tonight I can not feel it
But tomorrow that might change
So until I feel its fins again
I’ll sit and breathe and wait
